Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28/08/2026
Be Well Live Well respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.
In this policy, “Be Well Live Well”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Be Well Live Well, operated by Micaela Parker in New Zealand.
1. The information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address, telephone number and location;
- information you provide through our website, quizzes, assessments, contact forms, booking forms, surveys and email communications;
- your quiz or assessment responses, scores and personalised results;
- health and wellbeing information you choose to provide, which may include symptoms, life stage, health history, medications or supplements, nutrition, sleep, movement, stress, lifestyle, goals and progress;
- information and notes created while providing coaching or other services to you;
- appointment, programme, purchase, payment and transaction information. Full card details are generally collected and processed by our payment provider rather than by us;
- your marketing preferences and records of consent;
- testimonials, photographs or other content, but only where you have agreed to the relevant use; and
- technical information collected when you use our website, such as your IP address, device and browser information, referring pages, pages viewed and cookie or analytics data.
Please do not provide personal or health information about another person unless you are authorised to do so and have made them aware of this policy.
2. How we collect your information
We usually collect information directly from you when you:
- visit or use our website;
- complete a quiz, assessment, form or survey;
- subscribe to our emails;
- enquire about, book or purchase a service;
- participate in coaching or another service; or
- communicate with us by email, telephone, video call, social media or another channel.
We may also receive information through service providers that help us operate our business, such as website, booking, payment, email, video-conferencing and analytics providers. If we collect personal information about you from another source, we will take reasonable steps to let you know where required by law.
3. Why we collect and use your information
We may use your information to:
- provide, personalise and administer our quizzes, assessments, coaching, programmes and other services;
- calculate, display and send your quiz or assessment results;
- understand your goals, circumstances and wellbeing needs;
- communicate with you about an enquiry, booking, purchase or service you requested;
- process payments and maintain business, tax and transaction records;
- provide resources, support, follow-up information and customer service;
- send newsletters, wellbeing information, programme updates and offers where you have consented to marketing;
- manage your marketing preferences and action unsubscribe requests;
- improve our website, content, services and client experience;
- maintain the security and integrity of our systems, prevent misuse and resolve technical issues;
- respond to complaints, disputes or legal claims; and
- comply with applicable legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
Providing information is generally voluntary. However, if you do not provide information required for a quiz, booking or coaching service, we may be unable to provide the requested result or service.
4. Health and wellbeing information
We recognise that health and wellbeing information is sensitive. We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide the requested quiz, assessment, coaching or other service, and we handle it with additional care.
We do not sell your health information. We will not use health or coaching information for unrelated marketing without your permission.
Our coaching, quizzes and educational content do not replace medical diagnosis, treatment or advice. If you have a medical concern, please consult an appropriately qualified health professional.
5. Email marketing and your choices
We will add you to our marketing email list only where you have given the relevant consent or where another lawful form of consent applies. Marketing consent is optional and is not required for you to receive a requested quiz result or service-related communication.
You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending essential messages about an active booking, purchase, programme, requested result or service.
6. Who we may share information with
We may share personal information only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including with:
- providers that host or support our website and online forms;
- Google Workspace services, including Google Sheets and Google Apps Script, where used to operate quizzes and business records;
- MailerLite or another email provider used to manage subscribers, consent and email communications;
- booking, video-conferencing, payment and accounting providers used in our business;
- professional advisers, contractors or support providers who need the information to perform services for us and are expected to protect it;
- a regulator, court, law-enforcement agency or other person where disclosure is required or permitted by law; or
- another person where you have authorised the disclosure.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
7. Information processed outside New Zealand
Some service providers we use may store or process personal information outside New Zealand. Where information is disclosed to an overseas provider, we will take reasonable steps required by New Zealand privacy law to ensure it receives appropriate privacy protection. The provider’s own privacy policy may also apply to its handling of information.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember preferences, understand how visitors use the site and improve our content and services. Some cookies may be provided by third-party services embedded in or connected to the website.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie controls. Disabling some cookies may affect how the website functions. We will update this section if we introduce additional analytics or advertising technologies.
9. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These may include access controls, secure accounts, password protection, multi-factor authentication, reputable service providers and limiting access to people who need the information.
No online service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a privacy breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law.
10. How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as we have a lawful business purpose or are required to keep it by law. Retention periods may differ depending on whether the information relates to a quiz, marketing subscription, enquiry, client service, health record, transaction or legal obligation.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete it or de-identify it. If health-record retention requirements apply to our services, we will retain the relevant records for the period required by law.
11. Accessing or correcting your information
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
- provide access to that information;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; or
- update or withdraw your marketing preferences.
To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.
If you live outside New Zealand, the privacy laws in your location may give you additional rights. You can contact us to discuss a privacy request.
12. Children and young people
Our website, quizzes and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. Please contact us before providing information about a person under 18.
13. Links to other websites
Our website may link to websites or services operated by other organisations. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will take appropriate steps to notify affected individuals where required.
